Quarter Dollars-Standing Liberty
101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Lot #418 - 1807 Bust Left NGC MS-62

Gold $5-Capped Bust to Left Half Eagle
Bass-Dannreuther-8, by far the more available of two die marriages dated 1807. Not only is this "the right" variety to pick for type purposes, but in a competent grade of MS-62, one doesn't miss out on much as compared to a mere point's upgrade. This example features acceptable, slightly muted luster, and an excellent strike despite lightly clashed dies. Near-brilliant canary-gold hue generally dominates except where a trace of greyish overtone shows, particularly on the portraits. The cataloger could find no evidence of adjustment marks -- bonus points for many type collectors.
