  • Lot #686 - 1898 PCGS MS-65DMPL
  • Hammer: $1,175
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • 74 graded MS-65 DMPL, 27 higher at PCGS. Even earlier strikes than what is seen here for 1898 have earned "UDM" at ANACS in years past but there is no question about the raving eye-appeal of this utterly prooflike example. The contrast may not be as strong as some but the portraits float over ice-water mirrors on either side. The reverse seems a trifle better detailed than the obverse, both sides being nicely struck overall.
