Large Cents-Liberty Head
Newcomb-1, a hoard-common die-marriage for 1838 often available in UNC and readily identified by the multiple tiny serifs at the top of "1" in the date. Outer points of stars 5 and 6 show tiny die cracks which may suggest a later die state, especially affirmed by several other stars showing incomplete centers. A trace of brick-red flashes from the obverse right and limited portions of the reverse.
