Mintage: 64,462. Curiously bright somehow despite 25 points of wear and the presence of utterly bold mustard-gold over lemony hues. While obviously moderately worn, this scarcer Charlotte issue almost never saw good strikes to begin with. Unlike some, all signs of circulation amount to honest wear and only minimal bagmarks, compared to many dinged survivors.

Clem Stevens Collection. Astoundingly free from contact, the crystal-bright surface suggests an even higher grade overall, as does a very bold strike. While many 1889s are tough to distinguish from proof strikings, there is no doubt at all about the circulation status of this completely satin-laden beauty.
