101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Mastodon Collection. KM#120, Mexico City mint, 0.0952 oz. Slightly flashy and sharp, the quality lays every claim to the choice grade level. Though occasionally found somewhat semi-prooflike, this pleasing little beauty has become bathed in shimmering luster after a very good strike. Higher grade examples seen by the cataloger all seem to have been taken off of repolished, previously rusted dies that created peculiarly dimpled texture over the upper and lower portrait.
