Gold $5-Indian Head Half Eagle
45 graded MS-65, 5 higher at NGC. Nearly in the discussion for finest-known status, the quality seen here maximizes the appeal of devastating metallic mint luster and fabulous, bright golden color. A small nick in the reverse upper right field denies even further upgrade while the obverse displays merely a whiff of roll friction on the cheekbone. An example that will prove near impossible to improve upon.

Land And Home Collection. Hodder 2-D, Breen-190, R.6+. The "Godless" LON DON variety is much scarcer than the more often encountered GOD PRESERVE LONDON varieties. The surface of this wallet-brown example has a somewhat dry appearance but has no curious discolorations. Several tiny, curious pockmarks dot the elephant side, while the reverse shows no unexpected contact.
