  • Lot #177 - 1918 $50 St. Louis Fr# 831 - PMG F-15 minor repairs
  • US Currency-Federal Reserve Bank Notes, Large
  • Flat Creek, Missouri Collection. PMG has seen a grand total of only fifteen of Fr.831 -- not such a big surprise since St. Louis was the only district to release these FRBNs to circulation to the extent of only 4-thousand pieces. That said, the majority remain non-certified since over fifty examples are believed to currently exist. Interestingly, this note has a relatively high serial number by comparison to the very low emission. Regardless, the fact that about a quarter of all known notes are in museums means those very few that have ever been sold on the open market tend to remain impounded as a single-Friedberg type. Very decent margins surround this originally toned and choice example the "minor repairs" being closure of a couple of small edge splits.

  • Lot #478 - 1907 Indian No Motto NGC MS-66
  • Hammer: $11,500
  • Gold $10-Indian Head Eagle
  • Three attempts to create well struck examples of the lovely 1907 "no motto" required the mint to settle upon the normal rims example seen here, but thankfully, all that preceding trial-and-error (i.e. the "wire rim" and "rolled edge" examples) seems to have given Philadelphia plentiful experience in churning out high-quality eagles for circulation. Here is a fabulous example with devastating satin luster and an outstanding strike, not to mention phenomenally attractive yolk-gold hue. Only exceedingly small contact marks can be found on either side. Although 1907 is actually one of the relatively obtainable "no motto" date, the status as first-year-of-series makes it a target for type collectors.

  • Lot #312 - Native American Unsigned Bracelet

  • Jewelry-Silver
  • Sterling silver (tested, not marked) cuff bracelet in an overly bold design. With stampings to both sides of the piece, the cuff features a center applied leaf surrounded by four cabs of turquoise that appear to be from three different mines. An unsigned piece, so tribal affiliation is unknown. The original price tag remains to the underside of the piece. 5.86 troy ounces.
