US Currency-National Bank Notes
The First National Bank of Joplin, Missouri. An extremely elusive bank, this very scarce high-denomination large was issued before Joplin's first national bank went under in 1923. The cataloger found only nine extant, this example still showing faded but legible brown signatures and three broad margins. A remarkable opportunity, especially for a note that was reported to us as having never been certified.

Included are: 1848 gulden (alluring chartreuse-green and pearl-magenta accents across the unmarked and superbly struck surface) and 1848 2-gulden (incredible ravishing luster energizes golden orange blooming across both sides).
