Lot #884 - 1823 Copper Restrike NGC MS-64 BN
Large Cents-Liberty Head
Newcomb-3, restrike in copper. Awash in lovely, swirling neon blue undertones, both sides display obvious luster and boldness of detail despite the well-known reuse of these dies. When this coin was struck, the dies were in an earlier to middle state as the obverse shows trisecting cracks, while the reverse has only a single, lengthy arcing crack crossing above the denomination.

Brass-gold and orange color drapes both sides, lighted up by minimal luster on the obverse and at least fifty percent of the as-struck luster on the reverse. Seemingly less abraded than average, the reverse does show one sizable linear nick below the eagle's right (observed) wing.
