Every example within this completed set is in uncirculated condition with only a few examples showing intermediate levels of toning. The second set is a Jefferson nickel run that is complete from 1938 through 2020 and offers a truly exceptional level of overall quality. A superior quality planchet shows none of the usual alloy problems that plague 1921-S and the strike off of better dies yielded bold details, including a fully delineated horn. The only complaint the cataloger could register would be a slightly excessive supply of sharp abrasions over the bison's back and beneath his belly -- but hey, this IS a 1921-S after all and one can overlook such anomalies in light of the very good production quality.
