Half Dimes-Capped Bust
Logan-McCloskey-6, a very common die-marriage and this example also in a widely available die-state showing a small chip at the top of the "3" in the date, and another chip within the second "S" of STATES. Pale pearl-grey and pastel ocean-blue adorn the surface and envelop a decent amount of vibrancy. The third star shows obvious repunching, diagnostic to LM-3, while both sides disclose strong clashing as is just about always seen.

Lot #418 - 1807 Bust Left NGC MS-62

Gold $5-Capped Bust to Left Half Eagle
Bass-Dannreuther-8, by far the more available of two die marriages dated 1807. Not only is this "the right" variety to pick for type purposes, but in a competent grade of MS-62, one doesn't miss out on much as compared to a mere point's upgrade. This example features acceptable, slightly muted luster, and an excellent strike despite lightly clashed dies. Near-brilliant canary-gold hue generally dominates except where a trace of greyish overtone shows, particularly on the portraits. The cataloger could find no evidence of adjustment marks -- bonus points for many type collectors.
