Thought to be rare at one time, the 1903-O now has a reputation for well-produced examples of which the present silver-bright dollar seems representative. A very good strike contains endless sparkling luster while one nick on the brow joins a few superficial abrasions on the cheek to help formulate the grade.

Considerable luster remains present for this one, perhaps suggestive of the choice grade level. Perhaps a combination of heft and indifferent handling has created a situation whereby many seem to suffer nicks and bumps on edge, such anomalies professionally "corrected" at far right for this piece.
