Cheddars de Voirs Collection. Glittering, pale golden surfaces comprise much of the character for 1914, both sides showing a decidedly weaker strike than usual. Morals And Liberty Collection. Kagin-3 (R.6). Formed in New York City, the firm of Norris, Gregg & Norris moved west to San Francisco following the discovery of gold at Sutter's Mill. They struck a five-dollar coin in Benicia City, a suburb of San Francisco, and these very rare coins are avidly sought by collectors today. NGC grades this reddish-gold five as MS-61, likely reflecting in part a rather weak strike as well as delicately hairlined fields.
