A generation's worth of Morgan dollars earn at least choice BU grades at PCGS. Included are: 1879-O (very good strike over exquisite, white fine-textured matte frost surfaces), 1897-S (astounding windmill energy on pure-white mint frost), and 1904 (another very good strike but the cheek disturbed by a number of tiny bagmarks). Half Dollars-Capped Bust, Lettered Edge
Overton-103, large 8. One of the more interesting die-marriages, this heavily die-clashed half-dollar actually represents early dies for O-103, as the O-103a die-state requires a crack down the center of the date, not found here. Darker toning envelops the surfaces, showing olive-violet, mulberry-grey and cobalt-orange undertones. Vibrant luster fills either side with excellent visual appeal and only limited contact marks on the cheek are worth looking for.
