Although "splits" calls out excessive creasing that inevitably led to narrow slits down the top edge, they do not particularly intrude when the note is laid flat within the PMG holder. A very scarce Linn County bank example, fabulous signatures and strong color remain visible. Only two first charter are reported.

Somehow, the color manages to make this exceedingly sharp proof all the more bold in appearance, and given the state of the dies, the character is much more lustrous and cartwheeling than typical.
