101st Airborne Collection. Whitman Blue Collection. 1894-S has the classic "RARE" cardboard insert and 1895-O is not present, but the balance of the set presents almost universally vintage, problem-free surfaces. 1898 could grade as high as AU, and stronger grade examples include 1900-O, 1901-O, 1902-O, 1906-O, 1907, and 1910-D. Incredibly, the consignor collected every single coin out of circulation and although he remembers finding at least two 1916-D Mercury dimes, 1895-O never showed up in his newspaper route money.

If the grading services ever decide that SPL is a sensible designation, it would perfectly apply to this cameo silver dollar as it shows significant reflectivity and definite, albeit not strong contrast. Several linear abrasions on the cheek will limit the grade, balanced out perhaps by an exquisite strike.
