  • Lot #852 - 1885 PCGS MS-63
  • Nickels-Liberty Head
  • Motor Man Collection. Extensive demand for the key Liberty nickel in UNC will make this blazing, lustrous white example an instant hit with potential suitors. A no-question circulation strike, the left ear of corn is only partially defined and a few subtle carbon flecks spread out in front of Liberty's forehead. An all-too-familiar hole in most collections of choice V-nickels.

  • Lot #726 - 1885 NGC PR-66
  • Hammer: $2,800
  • Half Dollars-Liberty Seated
  • Off a low mintage of about 6-thousand, close to a sixth were proof strikings, although the date is famous for circulation strikes that seemingly exceed the qualities of sister proofs. That said, the cataloger can find no reason at all for NGC to deny a cameo designation given wall-to-wall mirrors and ample frosted texture on the devices. A deeply impressed example showing a whisper of softness at Liberty's forehead.
