While each is struck to pretty much the same level of intensity, these have distinct appearance differences. A pleasing layer of powdery, matte texture completely envelopes 1926, while 1927 gleams with unfettered energy. Two coin lot.

Collectors of the series are not wont to underestimate the difficulty of locating a nice, very-good 1916-D dime with no problems. This example, slightly glossy on the obverse but showing rich dove-grey patina on the reverse, boasts strong, fully rims and portions of the vertical lines within the fasces. A very difficult example that clearly spent decades within an old Whitman (or similar) "thumb-buster" coin folder.
