  • Lot #891 - 1838 CACG MS-63BN
  • Hammer: $825
  • Large Cents-Liberty Head
  • Newcomb-1, a hoard-common die-marriage for 1838 often available in UNC and readily identified by the multiple tiny serifs at the top of "1" in the date. Outer points of stars 5 and 6 show tiny die cracks which may suggest a later die state, especially affirmed by several other stars showing incomplete centers. A trace of brick-red flashes from the obverse right and limited portions of the reverse.

  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Clem Stevens Collection. VAM-6, Top-100, consisting of the strong 8/7 in the date. An exceedingly frosty silver dollar, the obverse somehow projects a hint of cameo effect despite the astonishing amount of frost. Very decently struck and amazingly clean, especially within the fields.
