Lot #510 - 1875-S NGC MS-61
Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
Peripheral, spindly die cracks surround the reverse and connect most of USofA, suggesting a rapidly failing die. This side also shows markedly more abrasions than the obverse, the latter side surprisingly close to a fully choice appearance. Brilliant, frosty and showing nice lemon-gold hue.

Lot #457 - 1929 PCGS MS-64+ CAC

Gold $5-Indian Head Half Eagle
17 graded MS-64+, 14 (all MS-65) higher at PCGS. The final entry into the Indian half-eagle also turns out to be one of the most difficult to obtain at the gem grade level. In some respects, 1929 could be considered the "easiest key" or the "most difficult semi-key" depending on how one delineates rarity. Probably only six other dates prove more elusive to collectors at this level.

Strong luster checks off the first item on the list of accolades, followed immediately by what appears to be unexpectedly and pleasantly original color, including medium golden iridescence joined by much grapefruit-orange accenting. A very good but not quite excellent strike is mostly responsible for all that nice energy, but the grade gets held back slightly by two tiny nicks on the brow and another smaller nick on the lip.

From the Running Bear Trading Group of Gallup, NM. here’s a signed sterling silver, turquoise and sand agate cuff bracelet. The turquoise appears to be from the Ithica Peak mine. Makers initials are J.S. for James Shay of the Navajo nation. This bracelet is in excellent condition. 1.88 troy ounces.
