Zee's Densities Collection. Impairments place a damper on this 3-dollar duo, but how often does one find an auction lot with two certified examples? Included are: 1854 (delicate hairlines subtly traverse the lower portrait, erasing a few contact marks), and 1874 (glittering brightly as is typical of previously edge-mounted examples). VAM-10 with the wormlike thread on Liberty's upper lip. Very decently struck except directly over the ear, the fields show a fair amount of flashing character, but generate not quite enough contrast for special designation. Light amber toning clings to the lower left rim.
