Sharply defined almost to perfection, the surface displays nary a hint of color for this famed Treasury hoard issue. While only a couple of delicate linear bagmarks land on the cheek, a small, abraded area in the far right field could derive from counting wheel effect.

49 graded MS-63, 10 higher at NGC. Much of the mintage of 112,771 pieces must have been set aside because 1903-O seems to be the most common New Orleans eagle. Seen here is the classic satiny luster that somehow also portrays coarse subtexture throughout. A pleasing khaki-gold example that appears to be highly original.
