Dimes-Draped Bust
JR-6, R.3. A small break crosses over "7" in the date, next to a radial crack that projects upward along the left side of "9", and these are joined by additional cracks, especially radial cracks in the upper left obverse. Sharpness may slightly exceed VF-25 yet most likely, NGC settled on a five point demerit due to old, modest cleaning that now shows as trivial gloss across the surface. Fortunately, old toning and dirt remain within protected areas. A small, curiously machine-like abrasion shows to the right of the final star.

Doctor Drew Collection. Warm orange glows from a minority of either side but unfurls just enough vintage color to permit the RB designation. The strike is noticeably bolder than average despite being taken off of a modestly cracked reverse die.

This 18K pocket watch has a beautiful movement marked “E.KOEN, GENEVE, No 77628”. Unfortunately, the chiming mechanism doesn't seem to work. On the inside lid it is engraved “Fr. Stanley Goodwin, Christmas 1891, H.R. EKEGREN GENEVA” and the outside back lid has a fancy monogram of “C.H.S.” Winds, sets and runs. 72.9 dwt.
