Although "splits" calls out excessive creasing that inevitably led to narrow slits down the top edge, they do not particularly intrude when the note is laid flat within the PMG holder. A very scarce Linn County bank example, fabulous signatures and strong color remain visible. Only two first charter are reported.

Almost never found truly problem-free, it's quite a feat to locate such a well-preserved 1/2-escudo that hasn't become infested with hairlines or surface damage.
