Copeland Society Consignment. Cataloger's grade: [AU-58]. Luster shows extremely faint friction within central areas, and this cannot be ignored with regard to grade no matter how bold the luster. Off-white overall, wear shows not so much as rub as many tiny handling marks that prove the coin entered commerce, if only briefly.

Scott Laiter Collection. 41 graded MS-61, 37 higher at NGC. While more available as a date within the series, 1868 is at least not one of the truly common emissions. Without aid of a loupe, MS-61 almost seems too low given the lovely semi-flashy luster often seen for the date. Traces of lavender-gold show on both sides.
