Small Cents-Indian Head
Bucky The Badger Consignment. 133 graded MS-65 RB, 15 higher at PCGS. Snow-3, FS-301 was once believed to represent a 9/8 overdate but that hypothesis has fallen out of favor as it is now believed to represent 1869/69, as spelled out on the sticker-happy PCGS slab. The obverse has mellowed only modestly away from the vintage copper-red hue while the reverse presents as at least 80% brown. Important to an issue considered difficult even without the added fame of the Snow variety, neither side carries noticeable evidence of carbon, and an impeccable strike brought about a four-diamond obverse.

2 graded MS-66+, 1 higher at PCGS. In non-cameo format, PCGS places this proof dime near the pinnacle of grade, and eye-appeal plays a major role in ensuring the near-maximum quality. A blanket of powdery violet, rose-gold and magenta hues infuses the obverse while the reverse colors lean closer toward the cobalt-green end of the spectrum. Exquisitely preserved and intensely well struck.

It is not everyday you see a big, green diamond! While this one has been enhanced by artificial irradiation, it doesn’t mean it is any less spectacular looking! The center diamond measures 15x7.9x4.9 (limited to measuring in the mounting) and is estimated to weigh 3.50 ct., SI1 clarity, Bluish Green color, Stone Groups Laboratories Report # 240418A-SJ. There are four small round diamond accents on the side weighing approximately .15 cttw, SI clarity, H color. ring size 8, 5.0 dwt.
