Quarter Dollars-Standing Liberty
101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Leaning toward the brown side of the color designation, the surface does merge with stronger reddish orange toward the better protected peripheral areas. A cleanly struck and decently sharp key Lincoln cent, the surface shows very few disturbances for the grade, allowing for ready appreciation of subtle woodgrain toning.
