101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. JR-1, 1827/7 and often incorrectly referenced as "1827/5". These appear to be early dies, lacking any evidence of clashmarks, nor had any die breaks formed yet on the reverse when this dime was struck. Dynamic, jewel-like luster blows up the obverse eye-appeal but this is quickly offset by isolated surface damage "OF A" on the reverse.
