101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Mastodon Collection. KM#135, Mexico City mint, 0.399 oz. Only faint luster shows on the obverse although traces of slightly flashy luster still filter across protected portions of the reverse. The coin generally displays flatter details on the obverse, again with slightly better resolution seen on the reverse. Trivial planchet defects in the obverse far right field join innumerable tiny circulation marks to ascertain the grade. A much scarcer date and type that fills a difficult spot in the 4-escudos series.
