Mintage: 16,013. Splendidly original . Mere mention of "1859 eagle" rarely inspires visions of scarcity, but a very low emission leads to some well bounded populations at either service today. Grand National Collection. L&M-77A, KM#329.6, fine hair portrait. Modestly lustrous and showing very little actual wear, although friction hairlines flutter into sight here and there under a good lamp. Reddish-blonde patina dominates the obverse, relieved in areas by pale grey splashes, while the reverse shows a nicer ebony-crimson crescent of toning along the upper left.
