101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Grand National Collection. L&M-37, KM#Y31, no dot after DOLLAR, extra flame, Tientsin mint. Many consider this the premier silver dollar within the Imperial series and they often come rather nicely produced, as can be inferred by marvelous, vibrant spinning luster seen on both sides. Indeed, the grade seems almost too low at this point until one discovers scattered, fleeting hairlines on both sides. Exacting strike quality at the denticles and virtually all of the dragon's scales speak to a rather decent strike. A delightful coin with lovely, underrated cascading eye-appeal.
