  • Lot #860 - 1937-D 3 Legged AU
  • Nickels-Buffalo
  • Benjamin J. Collection. Cataloger's grade: AU/reverse wiped. Light golden toning is classic for Denver nickels of the era, and it plays beautifully over these almost fully lustrous surfaces. Sharpness probably exceeds AU-55, but a good lamp brings about some very fine hairlines traveling diagonally over the bison's back. A terrific candidate for any high-end album collection.

  • US Currency-National Bank Notes
  • Ex: Stanley M Zurawski, Jr. >> Sergio Sanchez. One hopes that this sensational note does not get overlooked. From a routine standpoint, this being a Serial Number 1 national off of Rochester, MN, the grade and intrigue surrounding the lowest possible number alone should elicit strong interest from the audience. The cataloger could not trace any sales of the only other known #1. On top of that, PMG deems the back design to be so misaligned that it qualified for an "error" acknowledgement -- ironic in that a properly centered back printing may have placed the note's grade into gem territory. Extraordinary!

  • Lot #89 - 18K Yellow Gold Jade Pendant
  • Hammer: $1,500
  • Jewelry-Pendants
  • Probably purchased in China during the 1960s, may we offer this absolutely stunning pendant fashioned from 18K yellow gold, diamonds and the most translucent green Jade. The three diamonds measure 2.5mm each for an approximate total weight of .18 cttw, SI clarity, I color. While most people know that the green color of a candy life saver is the best color of jade to own, the second most prized feature of a piece of jade is the translucency. This piece, although it looks like a moss green jade, if you get it near the light and under a loupe, it's more of an emerald green. And when I say this piece is translucent, I am NOT kidding. It is just so clear and so nicely carved that you know the artisan took great pride in creating the female deity you see here. While the piece is fashioned as a pendant, it also stands on its own and can be used as a small shrine. As to the deity this piece represents, I know not. It is what it is - just GORGEOUS! Dimensions 2” x 2.5”, 22 dwt.
