Gold $2.50-Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
Mintage: 2823. 10 graded XF-40, 26 higher at PCGS. Charlotte and Dahlonega have earned their reputations for rare emissions, but Philadelphia struck even fewer quarter-eagles in 1842, yet its specimens are actually valued lower than those of either southern mint. Here is an utterly delightful example sporting faintly mustard patina with greyish accents. Softness seen throughout derives from honest wear only, the only contact being a small nick in the reverse right field. Estimates suggest less than 60 examples of 1842 surviving through today.

There are four semi-key San Francisco issued Lincoln cents within this group lot with two being ANACS certified including a 1911-S AU-55 and a 1912-S AU-58. PCGS has certified the other half of the equation with a 1913-S AU-58 and a 1929-S MS-64+RB. A wonderful opportunity to fill some fairly difficult spots in a higher end collector grade set (ck).

I have to admit, this one won’t be everyone’s cup of tea but you will have to admit that it’s pretty darn cool! The center has a precious orangey marquise coral cabochon. There is a freeform, bezel set fossilized ammonite stone and the piece is completed with a elongated cabochon identified as rutilated quartz. None of the stones have indications of polymers or dyes, Stone Group Laboratories report #240827R-SJ. This piece has a pin on the back and also opens so it can be added to chain. Dimensions 4" x 1.5", 26.2 dwt.
