Cris Lindy-Ping Collection. The Walking Liberty half-dollar series is among the most popularly collected and difficult to complete collections within United States numismatics. This only becomes ever more difficult when attempting to fill it out with collector grade issues. Time and effort were clearly put into the building of this particular Dansco album collection that is complete from 1916 through 1947. 1853 is a year replete with a nice variety of type coins, most of them approachable including the 1853 gold dollar. Here is an enchanting example that has all the makings of a gem, but at a much more affordable price given the "plus" grade assessed by PCGS. Opulent, velvety sheen and a delightful strike contribute to visual appeal, the only detriment (that the cataloger could find) being a few trivial hairlines sweeping across the portrait.
