  • Lot #924 - 1916-D and 1916-S, both PCGS MS-64
  • Hammer: $500
  • Small Cents-Lincoln, Wheat
  • Bucky The Badger Consignment. Super details abound for 1916-D, the surface also showing matte tendencies beneath sea-green obverse toning and some magenta-brown hues on the reverse. 1916-S features identical color on the obverse, the greenish hue also spilling over to the reverse, and the strike borders upon being just as sharp as the Denver piece. Two coin lot.

  • Lot #457 - 1929 PCGS MS-64+ CAC
  • Hammer: $52,750
  • Gold $5-Indian Head Half Eagle
  • 17 graded MS-64+, 14 (all MS-65) higher at PCGS. The final entry into the Indian half-eagle also turns out to be one of the most difficult to obtain at the gem grade level. In some respects, 1929 could be considered the "easiest key" or the "most difficult semi-key" depending on how one delineates rarity. Probably only six other dates prove more elusive to collectors at this level.

Strong luster checks off the first item on the list of accolades, followed immediately by what appears to be unexpectedly and pleasantly original color, including medium golden iridescence joined by much grapefruit-orange accenting. A very good but not quite excellent strike is mostly responsible for all that nice energy, but the grade gets held back slightly by two tiny nicks on the brow and another smaller nick on the lip.
