The Brewhouse Collection. Fr# 222 is much scarcer than the other Friedberg number (223) for the "open back" Marthas. This one absolutely looks AU, and one must look persistently to find the other two faint creases that limit the grade. A beautiful note adorned with myriad security threads.

Possibly taken off of slightly rusted dies, the fields display curiously appealing ultra-fine matte texture that only bolsters the amazing lustrous effect. The details are not quite as sharp as usual for 1927 as can be inferred by nominal merging at Liberty's toes and lower face, and one dark spot lands beside her knee.
