For a western mint product of this size and heft, the surface shows essentially no large contact marks but has become infused with many small abrasions, exactly typical of the date. Only modestly lustrous on the obverse while at least half the luster on the reverse remains visible.

A slightly subdued appearance undoubtedly derives from finely matte-textured surfaces that seemingly retain no luster. The obverse showcases exceptionally sharp definition while the reverse may not quite reach the same level of sharpness over a couple of leaves toward the left. Honey-brown overall and showing darker inflections here and there on both sides.
