  • Lot #698 - 1892-O PCGS MS-63
  • Hammer: $550
  • Silver Dollar-Morgan
  • Bouncy luster typical of 1892-O can't help but shine off near colorless surfaces but that New Orleans strike is about as incomplete as is usually seen. Nicer golden tinge on the rims joins a brief flash of rainbow color at the bottom of the reverse; this coin was undoubtedly transferred from an old ANACS or NGC holder at some point.

  • Hammer: $1,700
  • Half Dollars-Draped Bust
  • Mastodon Collection. Overton-119a, R.3. The die state appears to fall just shy of the latest seen, with wavy clashmarks that connect the tops of the digits in the date, not to mention evidence of at least two very strong clash patterns on the obverse. There is no die crack on the reverse through "U" of UNUM. Although both sides are flatly struck, that is characteristic of the die-marriage yet both sides boast strong luster. A couple of small digs at the end of UNITED are notable.
