Lot #869 - 1795 Lettered Edge S-75 Fine details

Large Cents-Liberty Cap
Sheldon-75 (R.3), lettered edge, die-state II showing a faint die crack right of the 9 in the date. Apparently, about half of all extant "lettered edge" 1795s are of this die-marriage. Not technically choice due to even surface microporosity, the dry surface still resonates a reasonable level of appeal due to dusky overall burnt-sienna coloration. Remarkable for a large cent showing this much wear, essentially no contact marks can be seen on either side.

Lot #333 - 1852-D Rotated Dies PCGS AU-55

Misaligned dies are common to the 1852-D, this one struck practically in medallic alignment. Overall, this also appears to be a decently struck example, albeit the dies came together on the usual substandard planchet that seems to have plagued Dahlonega. Lemon-gold hue and clashing and die-cracks meet expectations for this issue.
