Lightly tanned surfaces give this uncut sheet of (12) 1928-G $2 Legal Tender notes a truly organic and original look. This particular series (EA Block) is rarely seen in uncut sheet form and is truly deserving of the Choice About UNC 58 grade given by PMG. Nice centering and a very minor tear are noted (ck).

K.R. Consignment. HB-50, EP-6, R.6. JOSEPH L BATES / FANCY GOODS / 129 WASHINGTON St / BOSTON. Cataloger's grade: [very-fine] at the bare minimum. Possibly choice due to lovely, even powdery brass patina, the eye-appeal is improved a little by the stamp being better centered than some; U.S. POSTAGE is mostly legible beneath the upper rim of the encasing. All Joseph Bates encased stamps are rare, the 1-cent pieces being the only reasonably collectable denomination. Quality of the original mica is quite outstanding for the type, showing a faint hairline scratch but minimum visual impediments otherwise.
