Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Lot #755 - 1842-O Small Date PCGS VF-30

Quarter Dollars-Liberty Seated
Briggs 1-A. 13 graded VF-30, 15 higher at PCGS. Listed in the Redbook, the "small date" is one of the most difficult of all Seated Liberty quarters, and struck early in the series such that virtually all are circulated. This nearly ebony, grey-toned example displays a faint hint of rose hue within the fields, contrasting with neutral grey on the devices. Remnants of grungy deposits occasion the reverse periphery.
