101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Cataloger's grade: [XF-40]. Sharpness actually reaches five points higher but a handful of slightly more noticeable blemishes land on the cheek and two brief but shiny pinscratches rest left of the eagle's portrait. The reverse was undoubtedly fully prooflike and the obverse semi-prooflike when struck, with modest circulation removing some overall luster.
