Philippine Issues-Philippine Issues
Ga Ha Ha Consignment. Philippines issues rank high amongst U.S. collectors despite them being considered world "coins" struck at the Manila mint, and each surviving an original emission of 10-thousand struck. First is 1936-M Roosevelt & Quezon, KM#177, taken off of lightly clashed dies and utterly blistering with bright, silvery luster and pristine appeal. Accompanying is 1936-M Murphy & Quezon, KM#178, phenomenally original under velvety steam-grey patina but showing one lengthier abrasion in the reverse left field. Two coin lot.

Lot #428 - 1857 PCGS MS-64+ TOP POP

Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
2 graded MS-64+, zero higher at PCGS, thus placing claims as the "finest known" 1857 five-dollar gold piece. NGC has never graded one above MS-63+, affirming the extreme rarity of choice and better examples. That so few survive seems surprising given a not-so-high but reasonable mintage of 98-thousand coins.

Tilting the coin back and forth beneath good lighting reveals exactly the kind of gleaming, satin-textured flowline effect one expects as the mint had ample experience striking superior half-eagles by 1857. One copper spot clings to the first start and a tiny carbon dot randomly flings into the obverse right field. A loupe also detects a one tiny hairline at the upper chin, with this trio of characteristics perhaps conspiring to limit full gem potential. The reverse seems particularly free from any mentionable defects while the entire presentation takes full advantage of an exceptional strike.

These 14K yellow gold earrings with omega backs feature three vertical rows of colored stones, ranging from blue and pink sapphires or tourmalines, peridots and citrines. Hallmarked 14K with makers initials of CH, these earrings embody the statement earring style of the 90’s. There are 24 oval stones measuring 4mmx3mm for a total of approximately 3.60 cttw. There is also approximately .42 cttw in round cut diamonds. Dimensions .75” x .60”, 5.9 dwt.
