Gold $5-Liberty Head Half Eagle
Large Date. 31 graded XF-45, 44 higher at PCGS. Identified by noticing that "2" in the date rests closer to the rim than to the bust and considered somewhat less rare than the small-date logotype. Very subtle greyish-canary deposits rest within the central area of all fields, and contrasts well with the underlying glint of Charlotte gold. While every single star except the first unexpectedly retains full dentilation, inevitable contact marks across the center of the portrait and spreading out left of the mintmark speak to the level of wear, as does the obvious loss of intricacy to circulation.

Land And Home Collection. Hodder 2-D, Breen-190, R.6+. The "Godless" LON DON variety is much scarcer than the more often encountered GOD PRESERVE LONDON varieties. The surface of this wallet-brown example has a somewhat dry appearance but has no curious discolorations. Several tiny, curious pockmarks dot the elephant side, while the reverse shows no unexpected contact.
