Early United States mint sets are among the most difficult items to find in their original condition and packaging. There are five such issues here that includes a 1949, a 1951, a 1952, a 1954, and a 1957. Each of these are still in their original cardboard sleeves and envelopes as well. Wispy and dusty tones cling to all of the surfaces of each issue within each set lending even further evidence to these particular set’s originality. Extremely faint carbon speckles occasion the obverse, and there may also be a flimsy overlay of something on the surface which could be properly conserved. Despite such commentary, the luster absolutely booms off either side, illuminating a marvelously clean, crisp strike and untroubled surfaces.
