  • Lot #798 - 1840-O No Drapery PCGS AU-53
  • Hammer: $900
  • Quarter Dollars-Liberty Seated
  • 6 graded AU-53, 48 higher at PCGS. Scarcer of the two obverse varieties for 1840-O, and very difficult to locate in mint-state such that all properly graded AU examples are desirable. Only minimal luster remains on the obverse while the reverse provides more energy, the whole wrapped up in slightly dense yolk-grey surrounded by deeper bluish hue.

  • Lot #901 - 1950 Washington, Booker T. PCGS MS-67 CAC
  • Hammer: $2,300
  • Silver Commemoratives-Silver Commemoratives Half-Dollars
  • 49 graded MS-67, 9 graded MS-67+, zero higher at PCGS. Common most of the time, the 1950 BTW half-dollar can be pleasantly appreciated when found so nice and luminous as this remarkable, superb gem example. Inevitably, the pre-strike abrasions that always appear on Washington's cheek, no matter what the grade, will show up under a loupe but the surface otherwise remains phenomenally immune from contact and seems fully original.
