  • Hammer: $800
  • US Currency-National Bank Notes
  • The Citizens National Bank of Sedalia, Missouri. Based on tracing adjacent serial numbers, one might suspect a cache of these Sedalia tens was found and dispersed at some point in the distant past. Now, collectors have an opportunity to obtain this example that boasts razor-sharp signatures and superb margins. Phenomenal, original color and paper at this level should always be rewarded with choice accolades.

  • Lot #357 - 1849 NGC MS-61
  • Hammer: $2,700
  • Gold $2.50-Liberty Head Quarter Eagle
  • Mintage: 23,294. 14 graded MS-61, 9 higher at NGC. Delicately abraded overall and showing feathery hairlines in the fields, original as-struck flashy character remains visible nevertheless. A relatively poor survival rate amplifies the effects of lower mintage, making the 1849 an unheralded scarcity at the mint-state grade level.
