  • Lot #776 - Complete collection of Walking Liberty half dollars in two Whitman albums
  • Half Dollars-Walking Liberty
  • Cheddars de Voirs. Uniform wear and natural surfaces are noticed throughout this complete collection of Walking Liberty half-dollars that are housed in two Whitman coin albums. The first album runs from 1916 through 1940 while the second album houses everything from 1941 through 1947. Grades range fairly tightly from Good to Extra Fine with the majority of the tenants grading somewhere in between. Included in this even keel collection are the following examples: a 1916 (GD), a 1916-D (VG), a 1916-S (GD+), a 1917-D Obverse (GD), a 1917-D Reverse (VG+), a 1917-S Obverse (VG), a 1917-S Reverse (F), a 1918-D (VG), a 1918-S (VG), a 1919 (GD), a 1919-D (VG), a 1919-S (VG), a 1920-S (VG), a 1921 (AG+), a 1921-D (VG+), a 1921-S (GD+), and a 1938-D (VF). Every example in the “short set” from 1941 through 1947 is filled with fresh examples ranging in grade from Very Fine to Extra Fine and could not be any more original (ck).

  • Lot #514 - 1875 PCGS MS-62+
  • Hammer: $3,900
  • Gold $20-Liberty Head Double Eagle
  • 31 graded MS-62+, 112 higher at PCGS. Every type-2 double-eagle is a condition rarity, including the present 1875 off a mintage of about 300-thousand. The reverse of this ideally tinted medium gold example truly falls on the cusp of the choice grade level given the lack of major abrasions while the obverse shows a rather fair number of minuscule bagmarks scattering into the fields. Frosted texture within protected areas has avoided contact and suggests the coin was struck with velvety texture Flickers of orange can be found across both sides.
