101st Airborne Collection. A group of Standing Liberty quarters was recently extracted from the consignor's Dansco collection, as all the other pieces are circulated. Included are: 1917-D type-2 (MS-62 and extremely original toning that looks much like mint-set patina), 1919 (UNC/FH but showing hazy surfaces), 1925 (Ch BU), 1926-D (UNC but not well struck and showing album color), and 1928 (Ch BU/FH and with attractive turquoise iridescence clinging to the devices. Cataloger's grade: [AU/cleaned], with affirmation of cleaning most evident by the greyish-white, yet somehow lackluster surface texture. Details fall right into the sharpness range of 53/55 and include a noticeably bold central strike yielding two full, completely separated bands. A couple of irrelevant hairlines in the reverse right field seem to be the only surface anomalies worth mentioning.
