  • Lot #436 - 1908 Indian PCGS MS-64+ CAC
  • Gold $5-Indian Head Half Eagle
  • Blazing with nearly blinding, matte luster, the surface looks up and down every bit of gem to the observer. It's tough to tell what exactly denied upgrade, but perhaps a small nick at left of the chin caught a grader's eye. Or the graders all got egged and were in a very bad mood that day.

  • Grand National Collection. L&M-77A, KM#329.6, fine hair portrait. Modestly lustrous and showing very little actual wear, although friction hairlines flutter into sight here and there under a good lamp. Reddish-blonde patina dominates the obverse, relieved in areas by pale grey splashes, while the reverse shows a nicer ebony-crimson crescent of toning along the upper left.

  • Circa 1960/1970, this sterling silver (tested, not marked) and turquoise squash blossom necklace features 10 blossoms set between seamed beads and an 8-stone Naja at the bottom. The design of the piece is mostly original with a slight twist on modernism. The turquoise used in the making appears to be from the Cripple Creek mine. Condition is very nice for its age with a vintage patina to the metal. Unsigned piece so tribal affiliation is unknown. Length 28”, 5.78 troy ounces.
